The Challenge: Simplifying and Gender-Neutralizing Essential Oil Branding
Healing Solutions, known for its certified pure essential oils, faced a challenge in appealing to a broader audience. The brand's current design leaned heavily toward a feminine aesthetic, despite essential oils being used by both men and women. Additionally, the branding and messaging were text-heavy and overwhelming for consumers, which detracted from the simplicity and purity of the product. Healing Solutions needed a refreshed brand identity that would remain authentic while being more inclusive and scientifically credible.
Our Strategy: Refining the Brand for a Broader Audience
To solve this, we focused on simplifying the visual and textual elements of the brand, creating a cleaner, more gender-neutral design. We stripped away the overly feminine influence and reduced the clutter of information while maintaining transparency about the purity and safety of the products.
The packaging featured amber or cobalt blue glass bottles, scientifically selected to protect the integrity of the essential oils by blocking light and avoiding the use of harmful plastic. The label design embraced simplicity—using white space and a single spot color—allowing the focus to remain on the product’s authenticity and therapeutic value.
We also created distinct labels for the three different oil categories (pure single oils, kid-safe oils, and blended concoctions), clearly communicating important information about dilution and safe usage, especially for families with young children.
